Scrambles Are of Varying Categories

Puzzles or scrambles are fun for people of all ages whether they are children, teenagers, adults, or the old alike. Basically they consist of putting pieces together to form a particular picture or a logical order to form a solution. They are brain teasers with activities that tickle your brain. They enhance critical, logical and creative thinking skills with either simple solutions for little children or those that require deeper brain activity.

Scrambles are of varying categories...some easy and others not so easy. These are generally making an object scramble, maze scrambles or even word scrambles. The solutions to the object scrambles would be to put together disjointed pieces of an object in some kind of order to form a meaningful object. For the maze scrambles the solution would be to find the proper route out of a maze with a story woven into it to make it more interesting for young children. Word scrambles consist of finding words from a puzzle in the shape of a square containing many letters of the alphabet. The solution may lie in finding words in every direction; forwards, backwards, up or down. Some scrambles are just anagrams where you form a proper word by changing the places of the letters that are given to form words.

People, who have an aptitude to identify a pattern from given data, fare better in these puzzles. Rubik's cube and crossword puzzles belong to this category. In a Rubik's cube, the solution is to find the quickest way to get all the faces of the cube with the same color onto one side. A crossword is finding the word that fits perfectly into the space given with the help of clues; either across or down. The difficulty level increases with age with children's crosswords the simplest and proceeding to the most difficult one for adults.

These scrambles are great and inexpensive gifts for all and especially when little children are on a holiday and need to have something meaningful to do. Besides giving them a good time, these scrambles develop their brains as well as increase their vocabulary. As mentioned earlier, scrambles are an excellent way to spend time.

Three Original and Educational Hobbies For Children

Nowadays most children spend huge amount of their spare time in front of the PC. Of course, the Internet gives them a lot of opportunities to learn - much more than we had when we were at their age. But how much education they get by chat rooms, dating sites and PC games? I bet these experiences are not that useful.

Wouldn't it be amazing if your children had some of the hobbies that you had when you were a kid? Or at least if they could spend more time on educational games and entertainment rather than on shooting computer generated criminals.

Here are three cool hobbies that can bring your kids a lot of joy and at the same time can have much better effect on their education and forming their character.

Clay Play
This hobby is appropriate for kids under age 5. Playing and creating items from clay lets your children explore their coordination and sense of shapes. Clay is a great material and it presents really endless opportunities for learning, exploring and creating.

Let the little kids explore the opportunities in their own way. There is no need to give them too many directions or to force them follow guides and create specific figures. Give them freedom and let them build their own things - you may get surprised how creative your kids can be.

If you want to involve elder children - between 6 and 10 age, you may want to show them more complex figures from clay. The advanced children can make entire performances with clay figures.

Playing Mind Games
Don't they play with their mind while staying on the computer? Well, not exactly and not in the way you want it. What I suggest you is to try getting your children keen on "old style" mind games. Take for example chess. Playing chess on a real desk with other real children - not online or against the computer - is not only a good way to train the kid's thinking but also a way to socialize them with other smart kids.

Chess is not the only game to consider of course. There are all kind of good old brain teasers like tic-tac-toe, battleships, word games, logical dominoes and so on. All of these games will help your kid getting smarter without turning it to a teenage nerd.

Making Paper Airplanes
This is one of my favorite ideas for a hobby which is appropriate for children of all ages. I know even adults who are keen on building paper airplanes! Making paper airplanes is a great thing for your kids because:

- It's easy and fun. It's not some overly complicated activity that will get your children bored.
- It develops the kid's creativity. There are so many ways to make a paper airplane and so many more are to be discovered.
- It's cheap. All you need is a sheet of paper.
- It's a way to learn more about such an exciting mater as the aviation.
- It teaches to patience and preciseness.

Each of the three ideas listed above will probably work great for your children. Just try to attract their attention to one or more of these hobbies and leave the rest to them.

Make Halloween More Fun - Quality Educational Activities For Kids

You might make Halloween more fun by sticking a pumpkin sticker on a worksheet or using a ghost shaped bookmark to keep track of independent reading and plopping some decorations around the classroom. However, to create a truly fun well-rounded experience for your students, you need to find quality educational activities for kids to use during the week leading up to this holiday. Incorporating some effective word puzzles, challenging math worksheets, innovative writing prompts and problem solving activities with a Halloween theme will help create educational Halloween activities student enjoy.

You do not have to stop your normal math routine just because of Halloween week. Using worksheets to review and reinforce skills or for homework is a part of a normal routine. Substituting worksheets with a Halloween theme is then a simple adjustment that will not interfere with education. Often Halloween itself it is hard to keep students focused, so pulling out a printable Halloween game or activity that fits in with your current curriculum needs might help them get through the day, without losing too many teachable moments.

Word Puzzles are always a fun activity to use around any holiday and Halloween is rich with good word choices. Whether using word searches, anagrams, categorizing, or thesaurus work, students are enhancing their vocabulary, practicing proper usage, and giving more exposures to the correct spelling! These sorts of activities are perfect for homework leading up to Halloween as families are often busy with higher than normal out of school events. These assignments are fun, simple but allow you to assign quality educational activities at the same time.

Although Halloween is rich with creative writing topics, it is always a challenge to come up with writing assignments that use these ghastly creatures but avoid violence. Taking the time to really look for a good resource for interesting writing prompts that also are printable downloads so you can find it easier next year, is well worth your time. This sort of assignment creates the perfect teachable moment for an age appropriate discussion with the students about the impact of violence and how you can be scary without being violent. Meanwhile you are making Halloween more fun for your students with creative writing opportunities.

Using challenging Halloween themed problem solving games and activities like brain teasers, riddles, or logic puzzles is perfect for filling in that little extra time waiting for the bell to ring, as a warm-up challenge when they arrive in the morning or for a homework assignment. Playing some strategy games as a full class or in small groups with some printable games you found online, fools them into thinking they are getting away with doing no work, but are really practicing using an important skill. Having games and activities that encompass different skill levels allows for some creative groupings!

Many teachers do not look forward to Halloween week because of how hard it is to keep the students focused and the challenge of keeping the blood and gore writing under control. With quality educational activities for kids to use at Halloween, teachers can make Halloween more fun for everyone.

Educational Toys: Loved by Kids and Parents Alike

If you have kids (or even if you don't), it's relatively evident that no two children are the same. They don't all have the same interests, they don't all like the same toys, and they definitely don't all learn in the same way. As adults, we need to encourage our children to enjoy learning, and it's our job to figure out which way will work the best. One of the best means for us to encourage this striking of a creative chord is with educational toys.

First, let's start with music. Music itself speaks to so many, and instruments help to develop necessary skills and confidence, and are a fabulous means of creative expression. Younger children will adore kazoos, maracas, and other "controllable" instruments that shake, rattle and roll. As they get older, throw in guitars, recorders and other "detailed" types of instruments that require a bit more skill.

Animals: Insect kits like ant farms, ladybug kits and butterfly environments provide children with the opportunity to learn the responsibilities necessary to care for animals and pets as well as to see what goes on in the daily life of such living things. With a butterfly habitat, the caterpillars arrive separately via mail so your kids can watch them grow, spin their chrysalides, and turn into beautiful butterflies.

Pretend Play has been a popular choice of both parents and children alike for generations. Kitchens, cooking and baking toys have continued to encourage creativity among future chefs and soccer moms and dads picking up a quick, yet somewhat healthy dinner for the family. Unfortunately many of the large corporate companies are trying their best to "brand" many of these types of toys to include their name, titles and logos throughout these pretend products, so keep your eyes open for the "unbranded" products.

Brain-teasers and multi-person board-games that make you think are once again gaining in popularity. These games help to develop critical math and logic skills. The ability to think quickly and under pressure is a large part of high school, college and the real world-working environment, so learning these skills during the elementary education years (and even earlier, if possible) will increase a child's ability to problem-solve later in life.

Finally, electronic toys have been pouring out of the woodwork for a few decades now, but more recent advances have brought an educational focus to this genre of gadgets. Interactive play combined with learning and entertainment is a great recipe for educational toys in the new millennium.

Educational Toys help children's learning

We live in an age when children watch TV and video games all the time. Sure it may seem as if video games and television to promote a child's brain, but many times kids are sitting there like zombies. Above all, they are not alone with theirhis ideas in a world of passengers in order to survive personally and professionally requires imagination.

Convenient as television and video games keep children engaged and involved, it is time to rebel against their parents. The revolt began when the child developed by such things as educational toys. Adults use puzzles, brain teasers and other things that require a strong mind to keep their spirit. It 'been shown that adults who, at the beginning of their stayGame with the activities they think taking an active measure to prevent Alzheimer's done. EducationalToys

Educational toys in different species and their stage for children, once they learn to take things. You can do something simple like a puppet or matching shapes. The child is forced to think and colored pieces that make these toys come with interesting activities. What makes these activities even more interesting is when the father is involved and praise the child when the child is successful.

From these activities means that soon the childGet a development strategy to lead and be easy to time he or she begins kindergarten. Your child will need the mental maturity to make it through the world, if you stimulate the brain to leave early and it was fun to learn. If children have fun learning is when people with learning difficulties throughout life. This is not always the case but has happened before. Many children dislike for one reason or another, learn to use, soEducational toys can be fun and rewarding.

The Raw Truth About Persuasion and Copywriting!

I asked all the time, "Lorrie?, How can I make my copy more persuasive" So frankly it helps if you can talk about your views on language. But the most convincing writing the right words to say is involved. You say in the right order ... and in a way that reduces resistance to new information and is acceptable, his spirit. One discipline that translates well to writing persuasive copy is NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming.

GNP is not a substitute forLyrics good. This is a turbo-boost. Meeting a person for his own set of levels with known words, is in control of communication almost immediately.

You have already been moved once to a pair of sexy shoes instead of the sensible, comfortable shoes that you buy really need? But if you come home you do not know, how about the strength of spending money? See, people understand the consequences of purchase, but often lack the internal recipe that risesthere. We all know we tend to buy on emotion and logic. In fact, purchasing decisions are largely the most emotional.

Who is right anyway?

We all agree on two sides of the brain, right? The left (logical) and right (emotional). Curiosity: The information that the brain is perceived to be right emotion. Then in a split second, shot through the left logical. Then finally, once again against the right emotional. InIn other words, every message we receive, the right brain is influenced by emotion. Pretty amazing, huh?

Here's the basic principle of NLP, as I understand it. There is no intellectual resistance to an idea that is perceived as your own. And if one employed by us to our imagination, we think we had the idea to us. So it must be great! Coincides with our own beliefs, is unconsciously accepted as the truth and behave as if it's true. So becoming NLPThe condition that the changes can be made quickly and automatically.
So let's cover some principles of NLP and how to use them in the art of persuasive writing.

Pacing

Pacing was done at the prospect of shoes from the target language. Watch David Ogilvy (one of the greatest masters of advertising, never lived) as an example. His title is not the first Rolls Royce out of mind, but the engineer at the factory. Ogilvy was told: "You know, David, the loudest noiseRolls Royce comes from this clock on the dash to 60 mph. "And David thought this man, this engineer must know something, because it is a constant flow of changes and revisions, and all that Rolls Royce factory. David has done his research and a connection. I do not propose that the technical became aware of NLP David, but is an example of how we as people connect the dots and write convincingly asResult.

Although similar to empathy, the pace is a bit 'more complex. In encouraging pace, you are actually in order to view or other evidence to be used to access a very subtle and vague. Are the same communication skills matching, mirroring and the relationship that you step and some lead to make the sale.

NLP Master Ross Jeffries said: "People will not accept an authority that we should go where, when you accept an institution whereon. "

In other words, if you're reading a letter or music listening to a podcast, it makes sense to me as a writer, this experience for your mirror. Then you are relaxing in a subtle way:

"As you sit and read this letter ..."
"As you sit at your computer ..."
"While listening to this show ..."

Each of these sentences, you and the prospect of an experience that moves him or her for sale. Have you ever met someone and felt a momentRelationship with this person? Or on the other hand, he met someone you just could never get enough in tune?

What if you knew how to get to that wavelength person "? It would be a completely different result - the result you wanted! This is the meaning of the definition of the target audience (or my opinion, TAR-KET). You can communicate with this person, because it is already defined him or her.

Condition of consciousness

This technique, which also connects withSpeak directly to your target market precisely. (If people are not their target down, no matter how good your copy nailed. No matter if you try to sell meat to a vegetarian. It is not easy to get to work. So, really in your target zone market.)

The way you do that is to understand your product. Find out where to eat, where to shop, how they look. They are a family or are single? Have dogs or not? They live in a rural areaArea or city? These keys make a big difference when trying to find out who your target audience. When I write my copy, write to a person. I visualize everything about them so it is very real for me when I start to write. I would suggest that you funnel down your target market to your chipboard as much as possible. That is, as you can have the illusion. Do you have information that they and the mind fills in the gaps. The more specific the better what ishe said.

In this technique, you can direct the reader's consciousness assuming something is true. To speak with him or her, as if something has already happened. Here are some examples:

"How do you become aware ..."
"As you know ..."
"I'm not sure how you get excited about this offer, but ..."

The correct use of language models in words means that you have to communicate through tonal changes, tempo changes etc., along the lines of a question or a statementone command. We invite the people of our certainty about our products or services using a expressing a command or a statement like "Do you agree say so?"

Prerequisite TIME

This approach piggybacks the previous year. They are based on the perspective of the experience of consciousness, adding the element of time. Examples:

"Before ordering today ..."
"After the end of your decision ..."
"While you are filling out the order form ..."

Use language patternsand move in a different direction, which translates into a win for everyone. The truth is that we sell every day, throughout the day. Is it not make much sense, communication skills, how to use NLP someone where you want to go to that lead them? And the more this happens, the more successful you are with your copy.

A few puzzle a day keeps the Dumb Away

Most people had a lot of puzzles to when they were children. They probably had baby books with simple puzzles, their teachers would be filled or a puzzle to share with the class and then have everything that their "thinking cap" and talk and try to solve it. But then as you get older, you feel something. Everything will be lost on serious subjects such as mathematics and natural sciences, and much of the fun.

It turns out that while mental exercises such as puzzlesAdulthood may contribute to mental speed and prevent loss of IQ over time. It turns out, has made the elementary school, that good for you! The best way to use this principle to spend a few minutes, day, do everyone a riddle or puzzle.

No matter what time of day it does, even if it runs in the morning to work best for most people, because they then think about the puzzle of the day as they go about their normal duties. Other peopleis their ride or train (or walk) in the morning thinking about work, and if you bring an employee to ask for help (get the kind as "peer learning" in primary school!).

Other people may prefer, Teaser for doing their brain when they return home from work at night, when their brains warmed up days "for. The day is not really important, but just the fact that they actually do their brains to think otherwiseas the day that offers positive effect.

Three original nucleus and educational for children Hobbies

Today, most children spend most of their free time in front of the PC. Sure, the Internet offers them a lot of opportunities to learn - much more than what we had when we were their age. But how much education they receive through chat rooms, dating sites and computer games? I bet that those experiences are not so useful.

Would not it be nice if your children had any hobbies that you had when you were a child? Or, if they could have more time for educational games and spendShow rather generated on criminals shooting.

Here are three cool hobbies, bring your children enjoy and can also have much more influence on their education and their character.

Clay Play
This hobby is suitable for children under 5. Play and create objects of clay, your children can explore the coordination and sense of form. Clay is a great material and it's really endless possibilities for learning,Exploration and production.

Allow children to explore opportunities in their own way. No need to give them too many directions or force them to follow their leaders, and create specific figures. Give them freedom and let them build their own things - you may be surprised how creative can your kids.

If you want to include older children - ages 6-10, you can show them the most complex figures in clay. The children are all advanced performance with soundFigures.

Play Mind Games
Do not play with their minds, while the computer? Well, not really, not the way you want. What I propose is to try to keep your children feel like "old fashioned" Mind Games ". Take, for example, chess. Game of chess on a real desk with the other royal children - offline or against the computer - is not only a good way to train the mind of the child, but also a way to socialize with other smart kids.

Chess is not the only gameto take account of course. There are all kinds of puzzles like the good old Tic-Tac-Toe, battleships, word games, dominoes, logical, and so on. All these games will help your child more intelligent without being a nerd teenager.

Making Paper Airplanes
This is one of my favorite ideas for a hobby that is suitable for children of all ages. I also know adults are keen to build paper airplanes are! Making paper airplanes is a great thing for your childrenbecause:

- It 's easy and fun. It is not too complicated, certain activities that your children will be bored.
- Develop children's creativity. There are many ways to make a paper airplane and many more are being detected.
- It's cheap. All you need is a sheet of paper.
- Is there a way to learn more about this exciting mater as aviation.
- It teaches patience and precision.

Each of the three ideas mentioned above will probably be for the great work in yourChildren. Just try to focus on one or more of these for a hobby and leave the rest to them.

Educational Toys Help Children's' Learning

We live in a day and age where children are watching TV and playing video games all of the time. Sure, it may seem as if video games and television stimulate a child's brain, but many times kids are sitting there like zombies. Unless the television show is an educational show that doesn't bore the child or the video game is something that involves a certain degree of strategy, they're not getting too much out of these two things. Most of all, they are not exactly using their imaginations in a world that requires its occupants to be imaginative in order to survive personally and occupationally.

As convenient as television and video games are at keeping the kids busy and behaved, it is time for parents to rebel. The revolt begins as the child develops by using such things as educational toys. Adults use puzzles, brain teasers, and other things that require thought to keep their minds sharp. It has been shown that adults who stay on top of their game with activities that make them think are taking an active measure toward preventing Alzheimer's. By incorporating such things into a child's life and keeping those activities as part of their life, a parent is taking an active role in ensuring that their child's mind stays sharp. It is also important to emphasize to that child how important such activities are as an adult so that they can take a preventive measure toward diseases such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Educational toys

Educational toys come in many different types and are available for children as soon as they learn how to grab things. They can be something as simple as a puppet or matching shapes. The child is forced to think and the colorful pieces that come with these toys make the activity interesting. What makes these activities even more interesting is when the parent is involved and praising the child when the child is successful.

Starting these activities early means that the child is going to get a developmental head start and will be using strategy easily by the time he or she begins kindergarten. Your child will have the mental maturity needed to make it through the world if you start stimulating their brains early and making it fun to learn. When kids don't have fun learning is when they have learning difficulties throughout their entire lives. This isn't always the case, but it has been known to happen. Many children loathe learning for one reason or another, so using educational toys can make it fun and rewarding.

Keeping it up

There are educational toys for children of all ages, so it is good to always make sure there are fun educational toys around the house that are age or intelligence appropriate. And yes, there are some wonderful brain teasers and other educational games on video game systems and computers. When the child reaches a certain age, using these as learning tools can be great. There are also great television programs that make a child think and make learning fun. It is just a matter of placing restrictions on how much time is spent using these electronic tools and making sure there is plenty of time that you and your child are doing fun learning activities together. By taking a time out and doing these activities with your child, you are not only stimulating their brain, but you are actually stimulating your own. The two of you are also spending quality time together in a world that makes quality time very difficult. So it is easy to see how educational toys can benefit you and your child in more ways than just learning.

Math Games in an Educational Context (Part 2 of 3)

As children begin to engage with, and enjoy maths games and puzzles, they realise that reaching the correct answer is not the greatest source of satisfaction, or indeed of paramount importance. What really matters is the speed with which the problem is solved and the elegance of the solution. People who aren't mathematicians sometimes struggle with the concept that some answers to maths problems are elegant and others ugly, when both result in the correct answer. More perplexing still is the idea that sometimes a child who produces a wrong answer using a mathematically correct approach should be awarded higher marks than a child who arrives at the right answer by guesswork or, dare one suggest, cheating.

Revisiting the Lily Pond Problem
In the opening article we considered a maths problem or brain teaser involving a lily and a lily pond. Stripped of its accompanying narrative, the mathematical bones of the problems are a pond 15 feet by 8 feet, in which has been planted a lily which doubles in area each day. After seven days the plant covers half the area of the pond. How long does it take before the pond is completely covered? The problem can be solved logically, mathematically or practically.

The Mathematical Approach
To approach the problem using conventional mathematical techniques, one would develop a formula using the variables to first work out the area of the lily when planted, and then to determine the number of days needed for it to cover the pond. The initial formula would read

Area after n days = Initial Area x 2^n (two to the power n)

By substituting the area covered after a known number of days, which is 60 square feet when n equals 7, one can calculate the initial area of the pond as being 0.46875 square feet. Having substituted the final area that is covered by the lily, 120 square feet, it is calculated that it takes 8 days for the lily to reach an area of 120 square feet. All very mathematically correct and all very long winded.

The Logical Approach
Children who grasp that both the size of the lily pond and the initial area covered by the lily are irrelevant to the problem will quickly arrive at the solution, which has an elegant simplicity. If the lily doubles in size every day and covers half the area of the pond in n days, the time taken to cover the whole are is n plus one days. A child who immediately sees the logical path may answer the question in only a few seconds but be unable to explain the problem's solution; 'well it's obvious' and 'it just is' are typical responses.

The Practical Approach
The practical approach to the problem might involve drawing a scale model of the lily pond on squared paper and then dividing the area successively in half to show the area covered after 7, 6, 5 days etc. For some children, the process of visualising the problem will provide a short cut to the logical solution, but nearly all will arrive at the correct solution eventually if they persist with the practical approach.

The Dangers of Cheating
Earlier, I mentioned cheating. Perhaps cheating is a strong word to use, but if you set maths games as homework you must be prepared for the fact that a proportion of children will seek the solution to the problems online, rather than using their own mental capabilities. For this reason I would advocate using maths games and puzzles as fun classroom activities, rather than as homework exercises.

The Educational Value of Maths Games
There is no doubt that some children find this type of maths game or puzzle enthralling, whilst others find them extremely frustrating. We've also discovered in our detailed analysed of the solution to the 'the lily pond problem' that some puzzles which are presented as maths problems are best solved using a non-mathematical approach. This leaves us to consider, in the final article in the series, how best to use maths games in an education context and how to integrate them effectively with other classroom activities.

How Can We Improve Our Self With Our Mind?

We often find ourselves looking at our current situation in life and thinking that it should be better. Although we realize we have some changes to make we fail to do anything to move forward a lot of people associate this problem with procrastination, although procrastination may seem like a reasonable diagnosis of the problem we need to look deeper into the issues and understand that the problem is not that we procrastinate but that we do not challenge our minds to do better.

Our minds are so used to a lack of challenge we basically refuse to exercise our minds in turn creating a "lazy" way of thinking. Your mind is the most powerful thing on this planet and we fail to comprehend that so we fail to take advantage of that. We as humans are responsible for the way the world runs as it does today, but it almost seems as there are two different types of people the thinkers and the users. The thinkers are the people who challenge their minds and create, explore, and seek knowledge, the users are the people who wait for someone else to invent, discover, and grasp knowledge and then use what someone else created without asking any questions. The sad thing is the users make up a large percentage of our population.

There are so many things that go on automatically that we never question and never fully understand and the saddest thing is we are completely content with our ignorance. When will we come to wake up from this ignorance and realize how powerful our minds our? We have the power in our minds to solve any problem that we come across as individuals the problem is we are so used to living in a society that never asks us to use our own mind to come to complex conclusions. Sure we use our mind to figure out what we are going to do during our day but think about the last time you worked out a complex mathematics equation using your own brain or the last time you felt the power of your mind. The fact of the matter is due to the luxuries we take for granted our minds have gone through years of suffering and we lack the drive to improve ourselves and grow as individuals simply because we haven't needed to push ourselves.

If you want to improve your self-image there is a simple way to achieve that, you must treat your mind right. You need to challenge your mind to unlock the powers within. We have the ability to have total self control, to determine what type of mood we will be in and to change anything we are not satisfied with. Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone and gotten to a point of anger that you "cannot" control? Simple exercises of your mind can help stop that. Ask yourself questions, why am I letting something that has no real effect on my life get to me? Or take a step back from the situation and say to yourself by getting this angry nothing is changed and the only person affected by it is me. The sooner you realize that your reaction to a situation can be controlled you will be able to live a happier life.

Things take time and with years of not using the powers of your mind you will need to constantly remind yourself to think. Think about it as if you didn't exercise your body for 18 years you wouldn't get on a treadmill and become thin and in shape it's the same concept with our minds. I urge you to at least try and get your mind thinking there will be a time where we all need to use our minds and if we have weak minds we are then weak. By reading this article you take the first steps into self-improvement start observing your surroundings and questioning everything feed your brain and open your mind.
