Child-Molesting Predators Are in Your Neighborhood - Educate Your Children!

Summer is over and school is back in session. Parents are busy preparing their kids for the challenges they will face as they start the new school year. Unfortunately, child-molesting predators living and working in your neighborhood are also busy making plans and devising methods to gain access to your children.

There are over 600,000 registered molesters in the United States and more than 3,000,000 others that are unregistered. According to statistics from the National Center for Missing Children, over 10,000 of every 1,000,000 children will become missing this year (40% will never be found), that 's a 1 in 100 chance your child will be the next victim.

Imagine you are waiting at the bus stop for your five-year-old to return from Kindergarten. The bus arrives and unloads. Your child is not on the bus. Or, you look out into the back yard where your daughter was playing just a moment ago. You don't see her anywhere. You call out for her, but she doesn't answer. These are just a few of over one million similar situations that occur each year. It's every parent's worst nightmare.

In this moment of crisis, would you know what to do? Who do you call first? Should you go out looking? Or, is it better to just stay home and wait? Making the right choice can mean the difference between finding your child alive, dead or not at all. Sure, this information is frightening, but it's also true. Pretending that these things don't happen is not the way to protect our children, but educating them is. If we don't educate our children with the latest information, they'll continue to be at risk.

You may be aware of ID programs, fingerprints and DNA kits. However, you may not know that these programs do nothing to prevent a child from becoming missing. In fact, many police detectives feel that these programs contribute to the problem. Parents participate in an "ID" program and think, "now my child is safe," when nothing could be further from the truth. The Amber Alert is a great program for missing children recovery efforts, but less than 1% of missing children cases qualifies for the issue of an Amber Alert.

Americans seem to place little value on the safety and protection of their children. You can tell what an individual values most by looking at his or her checkbook. We spend hundreds of dollars monthly insuring our cars, our homes and other possessions, as well as for such services as digital or cable TV and cell phones. All of these items are replaceable, and yet we balk at the ideal of investing in the safety of our most precious possessions, our children. Our children's life cannot be replaced! We seemingly place more value on protecting our "things" than on protecting our children. What will it take to open parents' eyes to the growing problem of missing children in America?

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Puppets

A puppet is a small-scale figure of a human or other living being often constructed with jointed limbs, appropriately painted and costumed, and moved usually on a small stage by a rod or by hand from below or by strings or wires from above. It is usually controlled by an external force and its movement is not inherent but is caused. Puppets are used to entertain in lieu of real people.

The use of puppets has a long history. Greeks were the first ones to use puppets for entertainment. Since Greeks were fond of theatrical presentations, and producing such large shows was rather expensive, puppets were employed to take the place of real actors. Puppets were made to resemble real characters and their movements are caused by manipulating the sticks, wires or strings usually attached to their head, hands, limbs and feet.

Kinds of Puppets

The first kind of puppet is the Marionette puppet which is usually suspended and controlled by a number of strings. Another kind is the hand puppet, which is controlled by one hand that occupies the interior of the puppet. A Ticklebug is a four-legged puppet, similar to a hand puppet but created by drawing features on the hand itself. Black light puppet is a kind of puppet that is operated on a stage lit only with black lighting with both hides the puppeteer and accentuates the colors of the puppet.

Other kinds are the Bunraku which originated from Japan; the Ventriloquist dummy; the Rod puppet which is similar to a marionette; but is operated by a rod rather than strings; the Marotte which is a simplified rod puppet that is just a head and/or body on a stick; a Shadow puppet which is a 2-dimensional rod puppet that operated behind a screen and a light source projected from the rear creates a shadow of the puppet on the screen that can be seen by the audience; the Water Puppetry which is native to Vietnam; the Wayang which is an Indonesian puppet; the Human-Arm Puppet or a Two-Man Puppet which is similar to a hand puppet but is larger and requires two puppeteers; the BuDaiXi which is a Chinese puppet show; the Digital Puppet which is a digitally animated figure; and the Finger Puppet which is small kind that only fits onto a single finger.

Modern puppets are improved by digital innovations and by the mastery of puppeteers. The art of puppetry has been developed and today, puppetry is used to create affordable entertainment for all.

How Can We Improve Our Self With Our Mind?

We often find ourselves looking at our current situation in life and thinking that it should be better. Although we realize we have some changes to make we fail to do anything to move forward a lot of people associate this problem with procrastination, although procrastination may seem like a reasonable diagnosis of the problem we need to look deeper into the issues and understand that the problem is not that we procrastinate but that we do not challenge our minds to do better.

Our minds are so used to a lack of challenge we basically refuse to exercise our minds in turn creating a "lazy" way of thinking. Your mind is the most powerful thing on this planet and we fail to comprehend that so we fail to take advantage of that. We as humans are responsible for the way the world runs as it does today, but it almost seems as there are two different types of people the thinkers and the users. The thinkers are the people who challenge their minds and create, explore, and seek knowledge, the users are the people who wait for someone else to invent, discover, and grasp knowledge and then use what someone else created without asking any questions. The sad thing is the users make up a large percentage of our population.

There are so many things that go on automatically that we never question and never fully understand and the saddest thing is we are completely content with our ignorance. When will we come to wake up from this ignorance and realize how powerful our minds our? We have the power in our minds to solve any problem that we come across as individuals the problem is we are so used to living in a society that never asks us to use our own mind to come to complex conclusions. Sure we use our mind to figure out what we are going to do during our day but think about the last time you worked out a complex mathematics equation using your own brain or the last time you felt the power of your mind. The fact of the matter is due to the luxuries we take for granted our minds have gone through years of suffering and we lack the drive to improve ourselves and grow as individuals simply because we haven't needed to push ourselves.

If you want to improve your self-image there is a simple way to achieve that, you must treat your mind right. You need to challenge your mind to unlock the powers within. We have the ability to have total self control, to determine what type of mood we will be in and to change anything we are not satisfied with. Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone and gotten to a point of anger that you "cannot" control? Simple exercises of your mind can help stop that. Ask yourself questions, why am I letting something that has no real effect on my life get to me? Or take a step back from the situation and say to yourself by getting this angry nothing is changed and the only person affected by it is me. The sooner you realize that your reaction to a situation can be controlled you will be able to live a happier life.

Things take time and with years of not using the powers of your mind you will need to constantly remind yourself to think. Think about it as if you didn't exercise your body for 18 years you wouldn't get on a treadmill and become thin and in shape it's the same concept with our minds. I urge you to at least try and get your mind thinking there will be a time where we all need to use our minds and if we have weak minds we are then weak. By reading this article you take the first steps into self-improvement start observing your surroundings and questioning everything feed your brain and open your mind.

Helix Cast metal Puzzle from Hanayama is a delightful and very tricky brain teaser puzzle. It consists of two star shaped pieces which pivot on a small central rivet and a chrome colored ring. The object is to separate the ring from the star-shaped pieces. The star shaped pieces have many grooves and recesses and a few smooth openings. One needs to turn the metal ring placing the open ends through the holes in the stars. As you turn the two star shaped pieces you will create more different "possible" pathways.
